Open to the Nature of Revelation

Retreat: Opening to Divine Vulnerability

Location: Church of the Transfiguration, Evergreen, CO

Please join us as we step into Autumn and prepare to wind down with the seasons and plant the Divine seeds that will await sprouting in the spring. This is a time of turning inward as the Earth does, and it's a time of twilight moving from longer and lighter days to shorter and darker days, the evening of the seasons. It's also a time of vulnerability, perhaps of considering some endings in our life. In Judaism, we move through the holidays of atonement and return to the holiday of dwelling in flimsy huts (Sukkot in Hebrew), a recognition of our own vulnerability and faith.  

This day will be a mixture of small groups and wanders on the land to connect to the more-than-human world and listen for the wisdom she can offer about our Divine seeds and spark. The wanders will build on contemplative forest bathing practices and bring other practices from Jon's guiding walks and rites of passage. The walks will not be long or rigorous, but you should be prepared for walking approximately one mile and uneven ground. 

This day will be guided by Jon Gottsegen, a member of the Spiritual Direction Colorado Guiding Circle. Jon is a Spiritual Director, serving Jewish clergy in training, among others, and forest bathing guide as well as a guide for wilderness rites of passage involving multi-day solos.
