Saturday, June 27, 5:30 p.m.—“Sankofa: Reclaiming Our Past So We Can Move Forward.” Sankofa: An Ensemble of The Spirituals Project is a 25-member choir that sings beautiful concertized versions of the spirituals. Sankofa is an African symbol illustrating the wisdom in learning from the past as we build the future. Location: Denver Art Museum, 100 W 14th Ave Parkway, Denver. 2008 Woman’s Story Gatherings — Bimonthly gatherings for women to share their experiences, hopes, and spiritual journeys through prayer, ritual, reflection, storytelling, and networking. Friday and Saturday, October 17–18, ’08 and April 24–25, ’09—Leading Contemplative Gatherings, with Rev. Kent Ira Groff.  If you feel called to lead spiritual retreats or short-term groups, this experience will provide skills for creating a contemplative ethos in limited time and for mining participant’s gifts. Between the opening retreat in October and the closing retreat in April each participant (or teams of two) will prepare and lead a 1-2 ½ day retreat or a 4-6 week group back home incorporating contemplative prayer practices.
